Laura’s Emerald Green Crochet Scarf

Laura’s Emerald Green scarf is the fifth scarf in the “The Gemstone Crochet Scarf Collection” of 2022. This is a collection of a new crochet scarf every month based on the color of the birthstone for that month and any of my children and nieces born in that month. Laura is one of my nieces.

I decided to make a crochet lace scarf using weight 3 yarn. I wanted a light and airy scarf that I can enjoy in the summer, spring and fall. The pattern is quick and easy to make as I used basic stitches of chains, single crochet, and double. You just need to master where to place the chains and stitches and then it goes by very fast.

I loved creating and crocheting the scarf. Even better, green is my favorite color and so I was making it looking forward to finishing it.

Yarn

I had fun designing and enjoyed making the scarf. Even better, it helped that green is my favorite color. I was so happy to finish making it and I can’t wait to enjoy it.

As I was deciding on what kind of crochet scarf I wanted to make, I knew I wanted a weight 2 or 3 yarn. As I looked and saw the Amigo’s yarn, I was hooked immediately. It is my first time to use this yarn and I am glad with the choice. The yarn turned out to be easy to work with and I look forward to making more projects with this yarn.

The yarn used is Hobbii Amigo 100% Acrylic 191 yds (175 m), 1.75 0z (50 g), Weight 3 in Emerald Green. Emerald Green is the color of the birthstone for May and wanted yarn that is specifically called Emerald Green and not just any green yarn.

Comparable yarns to Hobbii Amigo if you are unable to find it include Infinity Hearts Iris, Bernat Baby Sport, Lion Brand Ice Cream, Lion Brand Mandala, and Mary Maxim Artist Palette.

Pattern

Before I decided on the pattern, I knew I wanted a lace pattern. I wanted to make something I could use in the spring, summer, and fall. I chose a pattern with chains and shells as this gives the scarf the fabric that is suitable for the cool and hot weather. The scarf turned out exactly as I had envisioned. It is soft, light, airy, and flows just as I wanted.

Comparable yarns to Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek DK include Mary Maxim Artist Pallette, Lion Brand Ice Cream and Mandala, Bernat Baby Sport and Baby Sport Sparkle, Hobbi Amigo, Deramores Studio Baby Soft DK, and PaintBox Yarns Baby DK.
